About Calusa Creek
Calusa Creek’s Ranch is 10 minutes from Historic Downtown Stuart, the Sailfish Capital of the world and voted as “Happiest Seaside Town.”
The ranch has 1.5 miles of intracoastal waterway frontage on the St. Lucie River and 4.5 miles of frontage on State Road-76 (Kanner Highway).
On most Florida mornings the ranch is blanked in a breathtaking fog which is often disrupted at dawn by the sound of wildlife that populates the land. The critters live among the high grass prairies, oak hammocks, natural wetlands and cypress domes.
Calusa Creek Ranch has been proudly owned by the Barney family for more than twenty years until it was purchased in 2023 by the Bakst Family, JWA Ranch, LLC, an entity controlled by the Bakst family. New Shoots Bamboo Nursery operates on the property alongside the cow-calf cattle ranch.
The ranch breeds Brangus cattle, a cross between an Angus and Brahman cow, which is the preferred breed for Florida ranches because it has a high tolerance for heat, humidity and insects.
The ranch is home to more than 300 head of Brangus cow-calf pairs.
The location of Calusa Creek can’t be beat with all of Florida’s favorite attractions right around the corner.
